The Lakeside Hotel
One of our favourite places to get away to is The Lakeside Hotel. Situated on the shores of Lake Windermere, it is in an amazing location with stunning views. We all look for different things from our holidays; anybody else a scenery person? I adore beautiful views but also need a place my young daughter can enjoy and have a great time in too. The Lakeside is that for us and we’ve been visiting since before she was born. What I love as much as the hotel itself and the location by the lake is the excellence of staff every time we go. Their continually renewed high standards make it so enjoyable time after time.
Spacious conservatory with spectacular views creates a relaxing atmosphere guests can just ‘be’!
Never the same view twice, always beautiful.
Table Decorations, straight from the garden.
I couldn’t not!
We ordered lunch before heading to the pool for the afternoon… this meat platter was for one – I could not finish it!
The pool; tranquility for those looking for a little RandR. Once the family in the picture left… I taught Miss P to dive bomb!
The view from my pool lounger
The quiet of the afternoon. Come evening this is a beautiful hubbub of folk enjoying the ambiance.
Hydrangeas in a copper jug
Stained-glass windows and chandelier
Just a very pretty jetty
The Lakeside Hotel Boat
Taking a walk before evening meal
The train meets the end of the line just across the car park.
Drinks outside before supper
There are numerous places to enjoy an evening meal, we chose Ruskins Brasserie.
Evening entertainment, a tinkle on the ivories… the pianist was brilliant and played a real variety of well-known songs. He hit a home run for us when he played Frozen!
Moroccan lamps that come into their own once the light fades.
The back of the Hotel which looks onto the lake… such a beautiful building, slate, glass and old stone… in keeping with it’s surroundings.
How many times did you do this as a child… I used to love sitting in the window, found her in the bathroom here just having 5 last minutes watching the night arrive before bed.
Almost dark on the lake
We took our time over breakfast… bliss!
We stayed two days and really made good use of the hotel, going to the pool both days and enjoying just being together in the conservatory – would highly recommend! Visit their website here.
